David Lee Hand died peacefully in Rancho Mirage, CA on April 21, 2013 after a long, valiant battle with Parkinson's. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, children Heather Rider, Sean Hand, and Bronwyn Droog, three grandchildren, one great grandson, 3 brothers, numerous loving relatives and many dear friends. Preceded in death by his parents Robert & Annie and brothers Robert & Fred. He will be missed terribly by all. "A golden heart has stopped beating, a determined spirit is at rest." God has broken our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Paul Franklin Vader, 75, died after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease on March 7, 2013 in Littleton, Colorado. Paul was born in 1937 in Buffalo, New York to Paul and Josephine Vader. Paul is preceded in death by sister, Phyllis Weaver. He is survived by wife, Mary Ann Vader; sons, Chris Vader and partner Mike Misa & Casey Vader and wife Toby Vader; two grandchildren, Paul Vader and Gabriela Vader;and siblings, Prudy Brett and Patrick Vader.

Marcus Richard "Dick passed away peacefully on March 12, 2013 in Stuart, FL at the age of 77 after a two-decade battle against Parkinson's disease.  

Born in Albany, he was descended from early Dutch settlers in the upstate area, a proud distinction that inspired his lifelong love of New York State history. Before moving to Florida in 2001, he donated much of his extensive book collection to the 1700s-era Mabee Farm Historic Site in Rotterdam Village, the oldest standing home in the Mohawk Valley.  His many interests included music, travel and fishing, particularly in Ontario's Temagami region.  He is survived by his loving wife Johanna; his son Marcus Jacob "Jake"; his sister Nancy Mabee (Roger) Flagg; and a niece and three nephews.

Mulhollam, John, 81, who suffered from Parkinson’s for a number of years, passed away on Feb. 3, 2013, in Fullerton, CA. John was born in Spring Valley, Wisconsin on 10/31/31. He was in the Air Force during the Korean War, followed by a career as a linotype operator. John worked for the Fullerton Daily News Tribune for 35 years. He also worked for the Placentia Courier for 11 of those years. John was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Freda Mulhollam, twin daughters, Mary and Theresa, and granddaughter, Candice. He is survived by his wife of 61 years and the love of his life, Beverly; daughter, Diane Collins (John); daughter, Lori Kaden (Mike); daughter, Patricia Larson (Greg); son, David Mulhollam (April); grandchildren, Michael (Melinda), Heather, Nicole (Klint), Jeffrey, Sean, Rachael, Ashley, Carla (Dennis); great-grandchildren, Caleb and Simone; brothers, Hugh, Edgar, Gail (Sandra), and many other extended family members. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to Parkinson’s Resource Organization (74-478 Highway 111, Suite 102, Palm Desert, CA 92260). 

Creighton Lacey-Baker passed away peacefully from complications of Parkinson's disease on January 26, 2013 at his winter home in PGA West, La Quinta, CA with his loving wife of 30 years, Debby, at his side. 

He was also a resident of Lake Oswego, OR for 17 years. Born March 31, 1937, he was raised and educated in Long Beach, CA having graduated from Wilson High School in 1955. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from LBSU in 1959, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. 

Creighton worked in the Financial Services Industry, specializing in Mutual Funds for 30 years. He achieved much success at Massachusetts Financial Services, Integrated Resources, and Transamerica Funds Distributors, where he retired as President in 1994. Retirement allowed him to pursue his passion for golf. 

He is survived by wife Debby, son James, and daughter Dina.

Kenneth M. Smith was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Auburn, Wash. He passed away from complications of Parkinson’s disease on Jan. 25, 2013.

He was tenderly and compassionately cared for in his Grass Valley home by his wife of 57 years, Kathleen Smith, his family and caregivers.

Ken married Kathy, his high school sweetheart, while serving in the Army as a communication specialist in Alaska. Ken’s working career spanned more than 30 years with the J.C. Penney & Co., starting in his college days, working up to Northern California district staff and retiring as manager of the Grass Valley store that he opened.

His three loves were his family, faith and fishing. He lived for his family.

He is survived by his seven children: Connie Vossen (Mike), Melissa Steffen (Pat), Ken Smith Jr. (LaDeena), MaryAlice Keaton (Kyle), Karen Sartori (Paul), Craig Smith and Stephen Smith. He had 13 grandchildren: Michael and Christopher Vossen; Jennifer Moore (Tyler) and Jessica Steffen; Ryan Smith; Katie and Jake Keaton; Laura, Megan and Julianne Sartori; Samantha and Patrick Smith; and Madyson Smith and four great-grandchildren: Isabella, Penelope and Nate Moore, and Miles Taylor. He had one brother Tom Smith (Louise).

Ken was very involved in his Catholic faith as is evident through his actions as Eucharistic Minister, Hospitality House volunteer, Knights of Columbus officer, along with bringing communion to residents at local rest homes.

His father taught him to fish and Ken passed on this passion to his children and grandchildren. His many friends will remember him streamside, smiling as he lured in the big one!

Edmund H. Blum, 86, asleep in Jesus, Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Beloved husband of Susan (Selle) for 56 years; loving father of Beth (Bruce) Goll and Linda (Nick) Schneider; grandfather of three, uncle, brother-in-law and friend to many. Ed served in the Merchant Marines in World War II and in the Army in the Korean War.

John Leonard Davis, passed away peacefully, from complications of Parkinson's disease on December 29, 2012 at the age of 86 in his home in Palm Desert, Calif. Jack, as he was known to his friends, was born December 22, 1926 in Warren, Pa. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific theater during the final phases of World War II. He joined the Longines watch company in 1953, becoming president in 1979 and retiring in 1991. He consulted for the Bulova watch company through 2004, having over 50 years in the jewelry industry. He was an avid lover of tennis, golf, gin rummy and living life to its fullest. He contributed to various charities and was generous with his success. He is survived by his loving wife Elba, three children Michelle, John and Kenneth, and four grandchildren Madeleine, Jack, James and Danielle. He lived a life that is worthy. 

Dr. Sol Dresner, age 96, passed away on December 15 in Calif. He had a podiatry practice in Mount Clemens for over 40 years, retiring in 1984. He started the first residency program at Harrison Hospital, serving as Chief from 1970-1973. He was beloved by his patients and widely respected by colleagues. He was active in the Masons and Rotary.

Lois Lapper (née Barkowitz), 81, passed away Saturday morning, October 27, 2012. Lois was a native of Pittsburgh, PA, and shared a wonderful marriage for over 56 years, with her husband, Al. Together they've lived in Rancho Mirage, CA for the past 34 years. Lois, a beautiful woman, had been one of the earliest television fashion models, appearing on The Today Show in the 1950s. She was a vivacious, gregarious, independent gal who successfully navigated the NY fashion world before starting a family with her husband in New Rochelle, NY. There, she raised a son, Steven and a daughter, Suzanne. Lois was an avid and talented golfer who left everyone she ever played with a smile and a laugh, regardless of their ability. Lois loved to travel and made many, many friends wherever she went. Her characteristic independence and strong will left an indelible mark on most whose paths she crossed. Her energy filled every corner of the room. Though she is survived by her loving husband, son and three grandchildren, Andrew, Sydney, and Whitney, she'll be missed by many.
