The Parkinson's Memorial Wall Recap

Last month, we put out the call for memorials and tributes for the Parkinson’s Resource Organization Memorial Wall...The first and only virtual place for loved ones to gather, reminisce, celebrate, as well as a ‘show of force’ to remind the world what we’ve already lost to this hideous disease. 

We were overwhelmed by the response. Memorials came in by the dozens. It was an honor to read your beautiful words of tribute and to add your loved ones to our wall. The project culminated with a Week of Remembrance from May 23rd – 27th. We unveiled our virtual Memorial Wall with a video (found on our YouTube channel at YouTube.com/parkinsonsresourceorg) celebrating the lives and legacies of our beloved community, and we shared their stories throughout the week on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. And on Friday, the 27th, staff members gathered for a recitation of names of those who have passed. While somber, this experience drove home for all of us the importance of the work we do every day.
