An Afternoon at the Movies! FREE! 

January 22, 2025 - 1:45 pm to 4:00pm 

We are off to see the movies at a very special venue, The Joslyn Center’s Arthur Newman Theatre.

Arthur Newman (1924-2020) was a film production executive, former Rancho Mirage city councilmember, and philanthropist. Among many contributions, Newman is credited with creating the theater program at the Joslyn Center and spearheading campaigns to fund it. In recognition of his passion for theater, the Arthur Newman Theatre at the Joslyn Center was dedicated in 2009. 

The movie on tap is My Big Fat Greek Wedding, an absolutely delightful 2002 romantic comedy starring Nia Vardalos, John Corbett, Michael Constantine and Lainie Kazan.

The venue provides snacks and drinks for an optional donation, or you are welcome to bring your own popcorn, candy, and drinks to enjoy during the show.

We will meet at the Josyln Center’s main entrance at 1:45 pm and walk together into the theater as a group. The movie begins at 2:00 pm. Parking is free, and there is wheelchair access for those who need it.
