PRO is ‘On the Move’ with Parkinson’s Awareness Month Activities across Southern California
Category:Indian Wells, CA ~ March 18, 2025 – Parkinson’s Resource Organization (PRO) is excited to announce its Fourth Annual PRO on the Move ‘walk, ride, and roll’ event will take place Saturday, April 5th at multiple locations in the Coachella Valley and the Greater Los Angeles area, through the generosity of presenting sponsor Desert Oasis Healthcare.
Following the success of PRO’s sold-out Parkinson’s Symposium with The Michael J. Fox Foundation in February, the organization is eager to keep the momentum going with its annual walk event to bring attention to Parkinson’s Awareness Month and to the local services available for people with Parkinson’s and their families.
“This has been a pivotal twelve months for the Parkinson’s community here in Southern California,” said Eileen Lynch, PRO Executive Director. “We’ve seen historic federal legislation passed to prevent, diagnose, treat, and cure Parkinson’s. Coachella Valley lost one of our two Movement Disorder Specialists – but at PRO we held a first-ever Parkinson’s symposium in collaboration with The Michael J. Fox Foundation and brought back in-person support group programming. Every year we look forward to celebrating our amazing Parkinson’s community and increasing our public visibility to call attention to the fastest growing neurological condition in the world. This year, we celebrate progress by ramping up momentum so no one is isolated because of Parkinson’s.”
“We’re honored to be the presenting sponsor of the 4th Annual PRO on the Move Walk in support of Parkinson’s Awareness Month,” says Brian Hodgkins, Pharm.D., CPEL, FCSHP, FASHP, Executive-Vice President, Clinical Operations and CV-ACO at Desert Oasis Healthcare. “At Desert Oasis Healthcare, we’re committed to improving the lives of those impacted by Parkinson’s disease, and we’re proud to support this year's event.”
PRO on the Move features three Coachella Valley and one Los Angeles events celebrating movement in all its forms and raising funds for PRO's emotional support and practical resource initiatives. Participants are organized into self-created teams, each with their own fundraising goals, form of movement, and motivations.
