New In-Person Dance Class
Category:Loyal readers may have enjoyed an article in last month’s newsletter about the benefits of dance for Parkinson's, and those of you who joined us at our Parkinson’s symposium definitely enjoyed the dance break led by Heidi Buehler. In fact, it was so fun we decided to add a dance class to our regular schedule.
Starting Saturday, March 8th at 11:30 AM, we will be meeting monthly at Nickerson-Rossi’s Dance House for a one-hour dance class facilitated by Heidi Buehler, Director of Movement for Neurological Disorders at NIckerson-Rossi Dance. Heidi is a professional contemporary dancer as well as a certified Dancing Through Parkinson’s Instructor and personal trainer working with people with a variety of neurological conditions.
Participants will enjoy learning and participating in dance movements tailored toward those with neurodegenerative disorders through creative movement. Focus will be on improving balance, increasing flexibility, strengthening muscles, and having fun! No experience is necessary. Those with Parkinson’s, family, friends, and care partners are encouraged to attend.
Nickerson-Rossi’s Dance House is located at 45145 San Luis Rey Ave in Palm Desert.
Attendees should bring bottled water. The class is free to attend, however, advance registration is required at parkinsonsresource.org/dance. Please give us a call at (877) 775-4111 with any questions
