Message from the President - March 2023
Category: Message From The PresidentThey say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb... in other words, it’s a month of dramatic transitions. Winter shakes off its heavy coat (or light jacket, if you’re here in The Desert). We begin to wake up from our long winter’s nap, to dream and stretch and move again (emphasis on move).
We are certainly roaring into March, with two brand new support groups for young people with Parkinson’s and caregivers. Check out our Calendar for more details. But something tells me there will be nothing lamblike about how we transition to April... April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month and we have four amazing events planned, including our second annual PRO on the Move “Walk, Ride and Roll” event. Read on for more info.
Enjoy the articles this month, starting with the UPDATE ON THE ROAD TO THE CURE on this page. Check out YOU’RE WRONG ABOUT… also on this page; APRIL IS PARKINSON’S AWARENESS MONTH on page 2; NONVISUAL HALLUCINATIONS IMPACT PATIENTS on page 3; POTENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS OF SEA GREENS on page 4; RESPITE CARE also on page 4; NINE WAYS TO BE A MORE OPTIMISTIC CAREGIVER on page 5; WHEN A SONGWRITER’S WIFE DEVELOPED PARKINSON’S, HE WROTE THIS SONG on page 6; and EVENING PRIMROSE FOUND TO EASE INFLAMMATION on page 7.
Thank you for all you do for PRO. Your donations keep us whole.
Until next month, REMEMBER Caregiver Appreciation Day on the 3rd, Daylight Savings on the 12th, Saint Patrick’s Day on the 17th, and Spring Equinox & Earth Day on the 20th, and Irish Heritage Month throughout March. The flower is the Daffodil, and the birthstone is the Aquamarine.
ALWAYS remember to CELEBRATE YOU and PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS!
