Message from the President - April 2022
Category: Message From The PresidentApril is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. And chances are, if you are reading this Newsletter, you are aware of Parkinson’s.
Get Involved.
To bring about awareness for Parkinson’s there are plenty of activities going on like hikes, walks, golf... you name it. Check out Parkinson’s On The Move on page 5. If you cannot find an activity in your area, call the PRO office, we can help. Wear a silver ribbon, which is the symbol for all neurological diseases, like the pink ribbon for cancer; wear or plant a tulip, another symbol used for Parkinson’s.
Our drawing for the 7-night stay at a resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, took place on March 31st, so check the website to see if you won. Newsworthy Notes went to print before the drawing took place.
We’re excited to share: UPDATE ON THE ROAD TO THE CURE on this page, and then articles from our wonderful Wellness Villagers, like; IT TAKES A VILLAGE on page 2; PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR PARKINSON’S DISEASE: A BRIEF GUIDE on page 3; WHAT IS LONG-TERM CARE? on page 4; YOUR LIFE INSURANCE POLICY: A HIDDEN ASSET on page 5; WHAT IS MINDFULNESS AND HOW CAN IT HELP YOUR HEALTH AND WELLNESS? on page 6, and; ARE YOU DEHYDRATED? on page 7.
We’ve made registering for meetings and donations much easier through our registration and donation portals on the website. In addition to donating, join us in becoming a key part of our advocacy efforts. Contact us to Get Involved at ParkinsonsResource.org.
Without YOU, we could never do all that we do.
