Meet Wendy Garcia

PRO’s Multimedia & Programs Manager

1. Describe your role with PRO.

“I am in charge of making sure our programs run smoothly; from support groups and internship programs, to our various media productions like our "Together in Parkinson's Podcast” (now playing on Spotify and YouTube).”

2. What inspired you to come work with PRO?

“After Covid, I left my job as a news producer, desiring to get away from the fast-paced world of journalism. I briefly worked as an event consultant in some of The Valley's biggest events before wanting to do something more meaningful for my community. I met our Executive Director at a Fundraising Professionals Luncheon, where she convinced me to apply to PRO. While I was considering offers, I looked through PRO's website, specifically the Memorial Wall. I came across actor Robin Williams' picture on the Memorial Wall, and my decision was made. It was a childhood dream of mine to work with him. Even though I will never get to work with him in person, I can help people who need support through their journey with Parkinson's.”

3. What is a fun fact about you?

“I have worked on an Oscar-winning film and attended the Oscars. That was the highlight of my film career so far!”
