Meet The PRO Team: Eileen Lynch
Category:It’s the people behind the scenes at PRO that makes us the special resource organization that we are. Each month we take our readers behind the scenes and introduce one person from the PRO team.
Meet Eileen Lynch
PRO’s Executive Director
1. Describe your role with PRO.
“I direct the strategic, program, and fundraising goals for PRO. This includes managing our amazing staff and working with the Board, analyzing our programs, and building community partnerships. As the boss, I do everything from big planning and events to tidying the office and changing out toilet paper. My favorite part of my job is constituent services, be it through one-on-one conversations, drop-in visits, support groups, or community events. My least favorite part of my job is wrestling with the copy machine.”
2. What inspired you to come work with PRO?
“I was inspired by the mission. It is so concise and clear, yet wide-reaching. It is simple and heartfelt, and it leaves room for us to have a huge imagination about our future programs to support the Parkinson’s community. That said, I was initially reluctant to move across the country to join PRO full time (I started out as a remote grant writer), until I came out to Coachella Valley for a site visit and did a hike in the beautiful Mojave desert. So I guess you could say the desert itself inspired me as well!”
3. What is a fun fact about you?
“I am a huge nature lover. If you take a ride in my car, there is a not-zero chance that you will encounter “cool rocks,” shells, and lots of sand. In my apartment there are multiple displays of the aforementioned “cool rocks,” my favorite of which is from a rockslide in Vermont that cracked open a vein of green serpentine.”
