Joy Bubbles Over at "Chocolate and Champagne" Cocktail Soiree
Category: Special EventsA busy month of activities (four lectures, six walks, one bingo fundraiser) culminated in a gorgeous celebration—the Chocolate & Champagne Cocktail Soiree on April 26th. Combining two of our favorite things, bubbly and decadent desserts, this fundraiser also featured a silent auction, raffle, and incredible musical performances.
Over 150 guests joined Parkinson’s Resource Organization for this special event. They pursued silent auction packages featuring restaurants, hotel stays, casinos, adventure tours, golf, theater, spa visits, jewelry, shopping sprees, and more while snacking on chocolate desserts generously donated by local artisans.
Guests had the chance to bid on a very special live auction... a gourmet Italian dinner for eight prepared by a local celebrity, KESQ News Channel 3 Meteorologist Patrick Evans, a talented chef who happens to have his own brand of premium sausage!
The highlight of the evening was a beautiful performance by Maximo Marcuso, “Tenor of the Americas.” An incredibly talented performer, Maximo serenaded the crowd with a beautiful rendition of “Conte Partiro”, “Nessun Dorna” and “The Prayer”. A world class tenor who has sung to crowds around the world including Berlin, Rome, New York, and Las Vegas, Maximo joined us at Chocolate & Champagne to honor his own mother, who battled Parkinson’s. Desert Locals can catch his full performance on July 20th at the CV Repertory.
The proceeds from this fundraiser—and from all of our Parkinson’s Awareness Month activities—will go directly to the programs we offer for people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers, which are always free so no one is isolated because of Parkinson’s.
It was a joy to see and connect with so many of you this past month. Let’s continue the momentum through the next twelve months. Help us spread the word by letting your friends and family know about the emotional support and practical resources available to them no matter where they are in their Parkinson’s journey.
