HELP REPEAL MEDICARE THERAPY CAPS
Category: Newsworthy NotesMany with Parkinson’s Disease use physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy services to maintain their quality of life and independence. Unfortunately, Medicare limits or “caps” the amount it will pay for these therapy services in a calendar year. The cap on therapy services places an undue burden on many individuals with Parkinson’s and other diseases whose annual costs for these services exceed the cap.
The Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) works every year to ensure Congress passes an exception to the caps, but unfortunately the exceptions process expires on March 31, 2015. A permanent solution is needed to ensure people with Parkinson’s and other diseases maintain access to medically necessary therapy services!
Please ask your Members of Congress to address a permanent solution to the Medicare therapy caps before March 31, 2015.
