Get A Move On
Category: NewsletterWe talk a lot about the importance of movement in combating symptoms of Parkinson’s. We’re so passionate about movement that last year we held the First Annual PRO on the Move Walk, Ride, and Roll event in conjunction with Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Intended to bring awareness to Parkinson’s, alert people with Parkinson’s and their caregivers to the free services available to them, and raise money for PRO, the event raised $15,000 and inspired over 90 participants to get their move on!
This year, we’re back at it. The Second Annual PRO on the Move Walk, Ride, and Roll will take place Saturday, April 22nd. Teams across the country will compete to raise money and design their own method of movement – last year we had walkers, golfers, and window shoppers! To create your own team you just need to gather a few friends, register your team, and spread the word! Visit ParkinsonsResource.org/PROontheMove to register or contact us at info@parkinsonsresource.org or (877) 775-4111 with questions. Happy walking!
And that’s not all – as part of our Parkinson’s Awareness Month activities, we’re throwing a party! Join us Wednesday, April 26th for the “Chocolate & Champagne” Cocktail Mixer at the Renaissance Esmeralda, complete with entertainment, silent auction items, and even a raffle prize or two! Stay tuned for more information.
Interested in becoming a sponsor? Your sponsorship will cover all Parkinson’s Awareness Month activities (we’ve got a few surprises brewing) and comes with a number of benefactions. Contact us at info@parkinsonsresource.org for more.
