A Beautiful Day Celebrating Don Cavanaugh With A Beautiful Family

The Fourth Annual Don Cavanaugh Day on November 13th dawned bright and sunny, much like its namesake, the late Don Cavanaugh. Together with his daughters Shayne and Kelle, the longtime staff at his restaurant, the Blue Coyote Bar & Grill, and Palm Springs Mayor Lisa Middleton, we celebrated Don’s bigger-than-life spirit and educated restaurant patrons about the services Parkinson’s Resource Organization provides to families navigating Parkinson’s. 

We at PRO are grateful we had the opportunity to work with the Cavanaugh family during the last few years of Don’s life. To continue their father’s legacy of generosity, sisters Shayne and Kelle donated 15% of the proceeds from the day to Parkinson’s Resource Organization – and with the support of our community they had their biggest Cavanaugh Day sales to date! 

Attendees enjoyed Don’s favorite chocolate chip cookies, commemorative bracelets, excellent food, and a special ceremony with Palm Springs Mayor Lisa Middleton to officially commemorate November 13th as Don Cavanaugh Day.
