Bits & Pieces: Countdown to Twosday

Category: Newsworthy Notes

There can be a wonderful symmetry with dates. School children especially enjoy writing ones such as 11/11/11 or 10/10/10. It’s even better when you add in the time of day and see it on a digital clock, such as 11:11:11 on 11/11/11.

And date watchers are in for another treat this month on February 22, 2022... especially when the 24-hour clock hits 22:22:22.

Already, a burgeoning twitter campaign is seeking to make the date something special after the COVID-ridden years we have had.

Focusing on 22:22:22 on 2/22/22, which is a Tuesday (second day of the week), the Twosday campaign has been born. A website to World Twosday has been set up, saying: “After a couple of years pain and frustration from the pandemic, the World is in hunger of joy, happiness and self-care.”

For the very, very few getting married, let’s celebrate them.

For the 0.27 per cent of the world’s population having their birthday on 02/22, let’s celebrate them.

And for rest of us—for the more than 99 per cent of us—let’s make it a day of “coziness”.

A day of taking care of ourselves.

A day of making sure that we don’t forget ourselves in the daily circus of life.

Happy two-two!
